Hi my name is Raymond PE2KW,  

The radio-story begun when I was a 13 years old boy playing with Walky Talky kits from 'de Kijkshop'  together with some friends. Using this equipment I contacted some other amateurs on the CB band at 27 Mhz and I was interested in this kind of stuff. For my birthday I got a 22 channels 0,5 Watt CB transceiver with a mobile antenna in front of the window and the real hobby was born !

After years playing on the CB bands and did some small experiments with FM transmitters on the 100 Mhz band there came the first handy rig for 2M and 70cm HAM Radio amateurs bands a good old STANDARD porto (now Yaesu-Vertex). With listening and some pirating on these HAM bands I wanted to become a licensed radio amateur, especially for the HF bands because during special events I operated different HF event stations already and I really liked it!

I n 1996 I got my first (and last) radio license, I became a so called 'C-amateur' with the callsign PE1RLK. after some years the HF bands became free for both A and C licensed amateurs, just in front of that I changed my callsign to PE2KW, and it's still the actual callsign I have now.

My interests are in both radio and meteo / weather applications and measuring technics. The favorite amateur bands for me are the 2meters and 6 meters VHF bands and the shortwave HF bands. From time to time I spend more or less time in the hobbies but never give it up.

As you could see downstairs I am a member of different organisations, the RCH (Radio Club Haaglanden), the VERON (Vereniging Experimenteel Radio Onderzoek Nederland) and VWK (Vereniging voor Weerkunde en Klimatologie) but I have many other interests also.  Hope this gives you a small idea who's website you visit....
